The plastering and rendering trades’ favourite refina megamixer mm30 1800 watt, the MM30/2 is a well proven and robust power tool with an 1800w motor that will generate a fast, thorough mix action for consistent results. The H handle gives easy handling and a comfortable work position; the new design H frame handle helps protect the power tool motor from damage
All MEGAMIXER have soft start variable speed, that minimises splashing when starting the mix with the plaster mixing drill. The power mixers are supplied with an MR3 spiral paddle that is the most efficient for converting power tool torque to an easy and consistent mix action
With its heavy duty 1800w high torque motor and two speed gearbox, this is the most powerful mixer for contractors requiring constant output
The two speed mixer MM30/2 is best for mixing heavy materials and large volume mixes including plasters, hardwall and bonding, external renders, floor screed, repair and epoxy mortars. Importantly it will easily handle a four bag mix without struggling and it will do it day in, day out
Review of the Megamixer MM30 Mixing Drill in 110 volt and 240 volt.
“I have owned 3 x Megamixer mm30 mixing drill s in the last 20 years. The first one a 110 volt megamixer i bought because i liked the big side handles and the 1800 watt motor. To be fair it was the most robust looking plaster mixing drill i had ever seen, i love buying plastering kit and so it made it onto my hitlist. I can’t remember the price back then but it was certainly something i needed to save up for. I decided to make an honest review for anyone looking at buying a specialist drill for mixing plaster
When i purchased my paddle mixer from Refina my work colleague also purchased a 240 volt MM30. They both arrived to our homes next day and were on show outside the vans the next morning. We were working on a site at the time using hardwall and set internally and coloured monocouche render outside. The 110 volt mm30 came out on day one mixing about 25 bags of hardwall. We did this in batches of 5 bags a time. The large standard mixing paddle handle the task perfectly in the big blue tubs we mixed in. The whisk has a soft start trigger which compared to other models was a godsend for sucking dry plaster into the water
The mixer is well protected against dust and dirt produced using everyday materials in plastering and rendering. The trigger has a rubber cover over it to protect.
The power of the mixer was clearly more than my previous bosch mixer and it churned out mix after mix. I have had that original drill for nearly 20 years now and it still works like day one.
On certain jobs my mate would use his 240 volt MM 30 megamixer and i must say i was a little jealous. The 240 volt version apart from plugging in the mains which made it much easier to work without messing with 110 volt boxes. The drill would run faster and more powerfully. The 240 volt megamixer was quickly on my hitlist. Because of the robust quality of the refina paddle mixer i decided to buy a second hand used refina mm30 mixing drill. I found one and it never skipped a beat.
I recently upgraded the 1800 watt 240 volt mixing drill from refina and bought the sexy new style with the green flash on the body. The mixer does not feel any different to my original one but does look cooler.
After a bit of investigation i discovered there was a quick release adapter for the m14 whisk and mm30 plasterers mixer which allows you to detach the paddle and transport easily. I recommend you keep this greased up. It did become sticky when left for a while.
In summary after reviewing this drill over a span of nearly 20 years use they cannot be faulted. The important thing to remember after all this time is that i can still get any parts for the drill next day or send it back for a service. This makes the purchase invaluable compared to cheaper drills on the market.” Reviewed by Ian Jones Jones Plastering Swansea
